WHAT IS THE COMPETITION FORMAT AND RULES?

The St Andrews Pairs Tournament format will be 'Pairs Better Ball Stableford' or 'Team Better Ball'. 85% handicap aligned with WHS. Spread over 3 rounds (Carnoustie, Kingsbarns, St Andrews Jubilee), all teams will create a 54 hole score and Leaderboard. The top 10 teams qualify for the final round to be played over St Andrews Old Course (100% Guaranteed times) to create a 72 hole Final Leaderboard. The remaining 40 teams will have their scores reset and return to Kingsbarns to compete in a one off, 18 hole Pairs Tournament, shootout for the Silver Medal.

WHO CAN ATTEND THE ST ANDREWS PAIRS TOURNAMENT?

The St Andrews Pairs Tournament is open to any amateur golfer. However the maximum handicap permitted for our competition is 24 for men and 32 for ladies. Regardless of your handicap index, you will not be permitted to have a playing handicap over these amounts in our competition.

TRAVELLING WITH A LARGER GROUP, CAN I BOOK MULTIPLE PAIRS?

Yes, larger groups are welcome and there is no limit to the number of 'Teams' your group can register. 

WHEN WILL I KNOW MY TEE TIMES?

You will receive an email of your full itinerary and arrangements 4 weeks prior to arrival. A Full Tee Sheet for the first 3 rounds will be included in this package.  Please be aware that groups entering multiple pairs teams will be seperated thoughout the draw to ensure that no two teams from the same group will paired together to create a fourball during the the tournament.

CAN NON-GOLFERS ATTEND THE ST ANDREWS PAIRS TOURNAMENT?

Yes. There are non-golfing activities during the week which are detailed in the daily schedule. Non-golfers are also welcome to attend all evening events and prize giving dinners. Non-golfers receive a reduction of $900.00.

HOW MANY ATTEND THE ST ANDREWS PAIRS TOURNAMENT?

The St Andrews Pairs Tournament is restricted to 100 golfers (50 Teams). There are no restrictions on the number of non-golfers.

IS TRANSPORT INCLUDED IN THE COST?

Airfares are not included. Transfers to and from Edinburgh/Glasgow Airports on your arrival and departure days are included.  Transport to and from the hotel to all golf courses are included. St Andrews is a relatively small town and everything is within walking distance from the hotel (shops, restaurants, bars, local attractions) in the evenings.

ARE CADDIES AND PULL CARTS AVAILABLE AT THE GOLF COURSES?

Both caddies and pull carts are available at all the courses. Below are details regarding the costs involved.

Kingsbarns Golf Links: Caddie Fee: £65.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: Complimentary
Carnoustie Championship Course: Caddie Fee: £70.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: £10.00
The Jubilee Course, St Andrews: Caddie Fee: £65.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: £10.00
The Old Course, St Andrews: Caddie Fee: £65.00 plus gratuity, Pull Carts: £10.00

CAN I UPGRADE MY ROOM?

Yes. All accommodation is based on 2 people sharing 1 x Old Course View Twin / Double Room at the 5* Star St Andrews Old Course Hotel.  Upgrades to Suites or Single Occupancy Rates are avilable on request, however are subject to availability at the time of booking.

 
CAN I ADD ADDITIONAL NIGHTS OR ADDITIONAL GOLF DURING MY STAY?

We are happy to arrange accommodation, golf or sightseeing for those wishing to extend their stay in Scotland. You may wish to stay in St Andrews for longer or visit one of Scotland’s many other great golfing regions. We can also arrange additional golf for your arrival day if you would like to play a warm up round prior to the event.

HOW DO I GO ABOUT BOOKING MY PLACE ON THE ST ANDREWS PAIRS TOURNAMENT?

To secure your place on the St Andrews Pairs Tournament, please inquire through our site. One of our team will the reach out to you with a bespoke package tailored to your group.  Once you are happy to proceed, the required deposits will be charged and confirmation of your reservation and team entry will be sent to you.

PAYMENT PROCEDURES

A deposit of $1,500 per person is required upon booking.
The balance is due on or before the 1st December 2023 for the 2024 April Event.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation fees will be made in accordance with the following schedule:
120 days or more prior to the commencement of the tour, $1500 per person will apply;
119 – 0 days prior to the commencement of the tour, total tour cost non-refundable.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that our clients take out Travel Insurance at the point of booking.  For those travelling from the United States, there is the US Travel Insurance Association which lists numerous member companies www.ustia.org
